Today begins my commitment to exercise on a regular basis. E and I went walking this morning, and we're planning on doing that every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And now that fall is approaching, I REALLY want to start playing tennis again! I just can't find a partner. Any takers? I'm not looking for a Serena, just someone capable of hitting a ball. I know you're out there.
Anyway, chocolate. I love it in all forms. Boxed brownies are my weakness. Too bad there isn't one iota of nutritional benefit in them. I'm giving up on my prayer that God will change the molecular structure of Betty Crocker's deliciousness.
These chocolate trail mix bites are actually a good-for-you snack. Dark chocolate has tons of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It's good for your heart and brain. And the little bit of trail mix gives you a quick boost of energy. But notice the word "bites" in the title. That's the key. Two of them is a good serving, around 45 calories per piece.

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. On parchment paper, use a spoon to put a small dollop of chocolate in little circles. Push some trail mix into each circle and let it cool in the fridge for a couple hours. Enjoy!
