I love to eat and I love to eat well. I value quality over quantity, and I'm intentional about finding foods that are made with real ingredients. All food products that I buy must be subjected to my screening process. I look for nutritional value, taste, cost & it's ability to keep me full. If it doesn't exceed in all areas, I'm not buying it again!
l enjoy the adventure and risk of trying new food products. At the end of each month, I'll share some healthy foods that I believe are worth buying. I want to help you find healthy foods that won't make you feel like you're missing out on anything. Here are my February highlights:
1. Love Crunch Dark Chocolate & Red Berries Granola
Dark chocolate and red berries. What better way to evoke feelings of delicious happiness. In my breakfast repertoire lies this crunchy pleasure, often sprinkled upon my bowl of Greek yogurt with blueberries and bananas. My favorite part are the small squares of decadent chocolate tucked away in this big bag of goodness. Beware the high calorie content though - don't get too crazy with it. Buy online here
2. Amy's Organic Soups
I don't feel secure unless I have these on hand. Thank you, Amy, for being there for me when I was too lazy to cook my dinner or pack my lunch. These soups don't have that factory-made, chemical taste like most canned soups. I can actually pronounce all the ingredients in these soups, which makes me feel pretty safe. But most importantly, they taste delicious and fill me up. Give it a try! Buy online here
3. Wonderful Sweet Chili Pistachios
If I eat a serving around11am-noon, I find that I don't over eat at lunch. It's been a huge help for me. I recommend not eating them straight from the bag unless you're okay with turning 5 servings into 1. Get Crackin! Buy online here
4. MaraNatha Coconut Almond Butter
This one's for the coconut lovers. It has all of the nutritional worth without the added sugars. It's slightly sweetened with coconut. Goes great with bananas & apples. My favorite thing is to stir it in with my breakfast quinoa bowl (recipe coming soon). This is a high calorie food, so use sparingly! Buy online here
5. Steaz Organic Iced Green Tea
Rarely am I ever drinking anything other than water. And it's not for health reasons. I just simply don't care for soda, tea, coffee or any flavored drink. But this Steaz tea is only mildly sweet and very clean - not syrupy. It's packed with antioxidants and has 80 calories a can. The pairing of blueberry with pomegranate is without fault. Can't wait to try the other flavors! Buy online here
