Happy New Year, friends!
It's been a while but I'm so glad to be back. Food blogging will be a priority for me this year. Few things give me as much energy & joy as this. I've missed it.
That beautiful bowl of smoothie wouldn't have been possible without a trip to Best Buy for a new camera battery, 1 hour of clearing space on my computer's hard drive, and cleaning coconut flakes off the floor. But... so worth it! I love this. I'm still learning the art of food blogging, and I'm excited for the year ahead.
I'll be posting a recipe once a week, and if you'd like to subscribe to receive these posts by email, click the button below!
Alright, on to the foodstuff. Smoothie Bowls were all the rage... like, a year ago. I'm lagging behind on food trends.
But I love these smoothie bowls because you can't eat them without smiling.
And they only take 10 minutes to make [or more, depending on your level of OCD with the toppings].
And they're versatile - your choice of smoothie with your choice of toppings.
and they're pretty.
chocolate berry smoothie bowl
[for the smoothie]
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp granola [I used: love crunch dark chocolate]
- half a banana, sliced
- 1 tsp unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp flax seeds
- 1 tsp hemp seeds
- few blueberries
- Blend the frozen berries, frozen banana, almond milk, chia seeds, flax seeds & cinnamon in a blender until smooth. Since this is a bowl, it needs to be thick & creamy! So start with less milk if you need to.
- Pour into a bowl & have at it with the toppings!
